Our Oktodon Facebook group launched a monthly photograph competition. A new theme was announced each month, and members could share their best photographs by adding an entry in the comments on the competition post.

Competition rules
To give all group members a positive experience, participants were asked to follow these rules.
Theme: A different theme was announced each month. Your photograph had to match the theme for that month.
Participation: The competition was open to all members of the Facebook group. Each participant could submit one photograph per month.
Eligible photographs: Only photographs featuring degus were allowed. No other animal species could appear in an entry. Degus must never be put at risk to take a photograph. Any photograph endangering their safety or welfare would be disqualified, and its submitter excluded from the group. Participants had to give the names of the degus shown.
Submitting a photograph: Post your photograph as a comment on the official competition announcement.
Competition dates: The competition began when an administrator or moderator posted the theme announcement and closed at 23:59 on the last day of the relevant month. Exact dates were specified in the announcement.
Choosing the winner: Group members voted on the submitted photographs. The entry with the most votes was the winner for that month.
Prize: The winning photograph would be displayed as the group banner until the next photograph competition.
Copyright: By submitting a photograph, you confirmed that you held its copyright and agreed to its use in the Facebook group.
Use of photographs: By entering, you agreed to credited publication of the photograph on the websites or Facebook pages of Oktodon and Octodons.fr. This archived clause does not extend that permission to other organisations or uses.
Respectful conduct: Comments and voting had to respect all participants. Inappropriate or offensive behaviour would lead to exclusion from both the competition and the group.
Changes to the rules: The administrators reserved the right to amend the competition rules when necessary, informing members beforehand.
We encouraged everyone to take part and share beautiful photographs while respecting these lovely animals. Have fun and enjoy spending time with your degus!
