A small bouquet is a simple way to offer your degus a little greenery. This easy enrichment activity can be adapted in many different ways.

Materials
- Dried flowers, millet sprays or other suitable edible stems
- Scissors
- A few small branches from a tree safe for degus
- An empty cardboard tube or cardboard egg carton
Instructions
Take an empty paper-towel tube or an egg carton. For the tube, make a hole halfway along it, large enough to hold the branches and flower stems. For the egg carton, cut out a section of four cups and make a hole in the raised section at the centre. Insert the twigs and stems.
Place the finished bouquet in the enclosure. If it will not stand upright, secure it with stones or wedge it beside the sand bath, making sure it cannot topple onto an animal. Then let your degus investigate and enjoy their bouquet.
